[Movies] Sony In Talks For Captain Planet Feature Film
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 06.27.2013

By our powers combined...Sony is set to save the environment. THR reports that the studio is in final talks to acquire the rights to the 1990s eco-friendly cartoon Captain Planet and the Planeteers with designs on making a feature film adaptation.

The original series tan from 1993 to 1996 and centered on five teenagers from different continents around the world who are empowered by Gaia, the spirit of the Earth, with elemental rings that allow them to protect the planet from pollution. When they can't solve the problem through their powers, they combine their powers to summon Captain Planet, a superhero who has magnified versions of their powers.
