[Movies] Kick-Ass 2 Director Taking on X-Force
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 07.12.2013

Following news this morning that Fox had registered a domain for an X-Force movie, we now have confirmation that the film is in active development. THR reports that Jeff Wadlow, who wrote and directed Kick-Ass 2, is being tapped by Fox to write the X-Men-related film with an eye to direct. Lauren Shuler Donner, who has produced all the X-Men films to date, will do so with X-Force as well.

X-Force was a team led by Cable, the techno-organic virus-infected son of Cyclops and Jean Grey from the future. It originally consisted of several members of the New Mutants, forged into a more militaristic team that included Boom Boom, Cannonball, Domino, Feral, Shatterstar and Warpath. Other members throughout the years have included Banshee's daughter Siryn, the mutant tracker Caliban, Dani Moonstar and many others.

It is worth mentioning, however, that there is no confirmation that it will be that X-Force team. The team was eventually disbanded and eventually resurrected by Cyclops as a "black ops" team of X-Men that included in its rotating roster the likes of Archangel, Cable, Cypher, Elixir, Warpath, Wolfsbane, Wolverine, X-23 and--as Uncanny X-Force--Deadpool, Fantomex and Psylocke.
