[Movies] The Conjuring Earns $3.3 Million In Thursday Previews
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.19.2013

Shock Till You Drop reports that James Wan's The Conjuring has earned $3.3 million in Thursday night previews and midnight screenings.

This is about what Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim made in preview screenings last week (which ended up opening with $37.2 million), and less than what Brad Pitt's movie World War Z made ($3.6 million before a $66 million opening weekend).

It's also less than James DeMonaco's The Purge, which earned $3.4 million in previews before getting $34 million for that weekend.

The Conjuring looks to open in between Pacific Rim and The Purge, although it has more competition in the form of Turbo, RED 2 and R.I.P.D..
