She's playing Charlie's lesbian daughter...
Amber Tamblyn has provided some new details on her new role on Two and a Half Men. As previously reported, Tamblyn will be playing Jenny, the lesbian daughter of Charlie Sheen's former character on the show.
Tamblyn spoke with Yahoo about the role, noting that her audition was an interesting one: "I told Jon Cryer to go 'F' himself in the audition in front of [creator] Chuck Lorre. True story."
Tamblyn said of Jenny, who moves shows up on Alan's (Cryer) door looking to break into acting, "There's definitely a lot of Charlie Harper in the character I'm playing. She's the modern gay Katharine Hepburn with a sailor's mouth. Her liver is its own superhero."
She noted that she's loving the role, which is scripted for five episodes but may become a regular one. "Hands down one of the best experiences of my 20 year career," she said . "The cast has been incredibly kind and supportive in guiding me through such unfamiliar steps. I've never done a sitcom before, I come mostly from dramatic roles, so there has been a large learning curve for me. But everyone, and I mean everyone — from writers to camera operators to wardrobe — have made me feel like a million bucks."
