It could be their first film under their new deal with Universalů
Variety reports that Legendary Pictures could be collaborating with Universal Pictures on the upcoming Dracula film, previously titled Dracula: Year Zero.
The film is set to star Luke Evans and is directed by Gary Shore and set for an August 8, 2014 release. Legendary is now in discussions with Universal executives to come aboard the project.
Legendary is currently going over Universal's upcoming slate for a number of projects it will help fund under their new five-year co-financing and distribution deal with the studio. Thomas Tull and his team are also considering co-funding Jurassic Park 4, set to begin production next year.
Movies excluded from Legendary's deal include the Fast and Furious franchise as well as animated movies. Legendary is committed to invest $275 million annually to Universal films and its own properties in the first two years of the deal. For the remaining three years, they plan on investing $350 million a year.
Other monster pictures that Universal could co-finance include the Mummy and Van Helsing projects they are developing.
