[Movies] Mad Max: Fury Road Heading Back For Re-Shoots
Posted by Joseph Lee on 09.03.2013

IF.com.au reports that George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road is set to have three more weeks of shooting in Sydney starting November 22. This follows six months of principal photography in Namibia and South Africa that ended last December.

Casting calls have went out for several roles (believed to be non-speaking) including an Aboriginal elder, a girl, youth and husband and wife. Talent agents have been told producers are looking for "odd, idiosyncratic" faces and slim builds, since it's a post-Apocalyptic film. At least some of the cast will take part in the shoot.

The film follows Mad Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), who finds a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a war rig driven by Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron). The film also stars Nicholas Hoult as Nux, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe , Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus, Zoe Kravitz as Toast, Riley Keough as Capable, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as Splendid, Abbey Lee Kershaw as The Dag and Courtney Eaton as Fragile. Mel Gibson, who originally played Mad Max, has a cameo as a character called Drifter.

The film was shot in the Namibian desert before being moved to the Cape Town Film Studio near the end. Deluxe Australia will work on post-production and visual effects. The film is rumored to be released by Warner Bros and Village Roadshow sometime in 2014, although it isn't officially on the release schedule for Roadshow. The only people who know when it'll be done and ready are Miller and producer Doug Mitchell.
