Producers violated important New York law…
TMZ reports that production was shut down on the CBS drama Person of Interest today when police were called because they thought a scripted gun battle was the real thing.
Witnesses reportedly saw people with guns near 47th Street and 5th Avenue today and believed they were going to get caught in a shootout. Police officers then responded and saw that the action was part of a TV show and the firearms were just props. However, the show reportedly violated a strict law in which all gun scenes need to be filmed with NYPD supervisors on the set. As a result, police shut down the outdoor production.
The Mayor's Office said the show's permit was revoked. As a result, producers had to stop shooting outside for the day.
