[TV] Former Heroes Star Joins The Cast Of Arrow Posted by Joseph Lee on 10.03.2013
The former Haitian is now a Captain...
CBR reports that Jimmy Jean-Louis, who played The Haitian on Heroes, will now play another character with "The" in the name. He is set to join Arrow's second season as The Captain or a multi-episode arc. This comes after word that Dylan Neal will debut in the fifth episode as villain Dr. Anthony Ivo.
The production team of the show said: "The Captain is a mysterious and deadly associate of Anthony Ivo and has a connection to a mystery of Season 2 called the 'Amazo' -- which will be a familiar name to DC Comics fans."
Amazo is the name of an android created by Ivo who can mimic the super powers of the original Justice League: Superman, Green Lantern and The Flash (who will debut this season). The character was created by Gardner Fox and Murphy Anderson and debuted in The Brave and the Bold #30 in the 1960s.
CBR speculates that The Captain could somehow transform into Amazo on the program, which has given realistic twists of characters in the DC Comics line. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said earlier this year: "I think our best episodes always start with a strong story idea, and then we 'Arrowfy' it -- which is actually a verb we use -- after the fact. That keeps the show grounded in the realistic as opposed to starting with some hyper giant comic villain and trying to wrestle him or her into our world."
He joins other DC characters including The Flash, Bronze Tiger, Amanda Waller, Brother Blood and more this season. The season begins October 9 at 8 PM ET/PT on The CW.
