Fitz and Simmons show up at NY Comic-Con...
Executive producer Jeph Loeb, Elizabeth Henstridge (Simmons) and Iain De Caestecker (Fitz) appeared at New York Comic-Con (via IGN) to talk about the show's future. Check out the highlights:
Henstridge on more character development coming: "Lots of secrets and little twists that are going to be revealed and I don't think you'll be disappointed."
Loeb on balancing character and action: , "It's always challenging with a new show on how much to give and how much an audience needs at a certain point...All of our characters are growing. As the team is getting to know each other, you're getting to know them as well."
Loeb on filming overseas: "It's something we're going to be doing a lot on the show. We'll be going to international places...[in the pilot] we were in Paris, that's not some photoshopped nonsense people talk about."
Henstridge on the possibility of characters dying: "Yeah, I guess! I think you never know… it's like anything. Especially as an actor, you never know when it's going to end...[You just want to do your best and] if you get killed, watch the reruns and cry on your own."
Loeb on More Marvel characters showing up: "Look, we have the Marvel Universe that's open to us. We live very much the world's that the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which means it' s a young place. A lot of the characters you think of haven't shown up yet… or maybe they have and you haven't met them yet."
Loeb on certain characters being held by other studos and what limitations that puts on the show: "We don't really get into the limits. We may be able to do something that's completely unexpected and I'd hate to say to you there's something that we wouldn't do and then do it."
De Caestecker on Fitz and Simmons' similarities: said that, "There's a lot of security that they hold in each other. But they are two separate people...[How often they go in the field] really tests them I think because they rely on each other and Simmons is a bit more adventurous than Fitz."
Loeb on whether the characters may appear in the Marvel films: "Until 48 hours ago, we didn't know that there would be more than 13 of these [episodes]...The longer we're on the air, obviously, the greater that possibility is."
Loeb on revealing secrets on the show such as Coulson's secret: "There is a plan. You don't have to wait five or six years to find out whether it's an island or a turtle."
