[Movies] Joseph Gordon-Levitt Says Ant-Man Reports Are Just Rumors
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 10.16.2013

Joseph Gordon-Levitt doesn't appear to be in the running for the lead role in Ant-Man after all. As we reported this week, Variety claimed that Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd were the top two choices for the Marvel film, with a "possibility" that a third actor may be added to the mix. Now, the Don Jon director-star has spoken with HuffPost and shot down those potential rumors, at least for the moment.

"You know I'm very transparent when there is news in my career," said the actor. "I'm always the first to tell my fans if there's really something happening, so if you don't hear it from me, it's just people spouting out rumors."

Of course it's always possible that Gordon-Levitt may not consider it "really something happening" until it's narrowed down to him, though he did also deny reports that he "passed tests" for the role. The film is set to be directed by Edgar Wright and will release on July 31st, 2015.
