[Movies] Netflix Looking Into Financing Films

Their original content has done well...
Netflix is continuing to push their slate of original content that has put them back in a very favorable position as a company. The company has had huge successes with series such as House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Arrested Development, and now Deadline reports that during the company's quarterly conference call, Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said that they are considering backing films financially.
Sarandos said the company is "actively looking at documentaries" and is keeping his mind "wide open" to other genres. The plan would be to set a more aggressive timetable between theatrical, home video, and streaming releases of films.
Whether that means an Arrested Development film or not is yet to be seen, of course.
