[TV] 50th Anniversary Doctor Who Special Gets Special Nationwide Theatrical 3D Screenings

BBCA America and NCM Fathom Events today announced today that they will be holding two theatrical screenings for the upcoming 50th Anniversary special of Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor on November 23 and November 25. The screenings will be presented in RealD 3D.
The November 23 screening will be part of the first ever global simulcast for the show taking place in 11 cities. Then the screening will expand to over 300 cinemas nationwide for only one night on November 25. Tickets for the November 23 screenings go on sale on October 25, 2013 at 9AM ET for locations New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle, Washington DC, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Minneapolis. Tickets will be available at Cinemark.com and Fandango.com.
The special will then expand for a screening in 300 3D screenings in the United States on November 25. Tickets will be available at participating theater box offices and online at FathomEvents.com. You can get the full list of participating theaters HERE.
The theatrical events will feature specially shot introductions as well as The Day of the Doctor: Behind The Lens, a 10 minute behind-the-scenes featurette directly following the special. The featurette includes interviews with Matt Smith, David Tennant and Jenna Coleman with Billie Piper and John Hurt, as well as lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat, discussing their 50th Anniversary experiences.
