If all goes well...
During an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show (via The Hollywood Reporter), star Jerry Ferrara said that the film is "real close" to getting made. He added that it's "looking real good" and a deal for it "could be closed today." He hopes the film will start shooting in January.
Even though there were reports that Ferrara and Adrian Grenier were holding out for more money, he denied it and said the delay was due to scheduling.
He added: "Here's what I'll say about holdouts: Athletes hold out when they have a contract they don't want to honor. No one's holding out. It just takes a little time. We're actually on schedule."
The rumor was that Jeremy Piven's backend compensation for the film led to negotiations for comparable pay for Ferrara, Grenier, Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon. Warner Bros wants to keep the budget below $30 million, which means that producers Mark Wahlberg and Steve Levinson can't budge on the pay. It has to start shooting by January to get a California tax credit, which is a condition of the film getting made.
