Vince Vaughn will still star...
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vince Vaughn's crime thriller Term Life is once again set to go into production weeks after Universal cancelled it. QED International and Worldview will now finance and produce the adaptation of Andy Lieberman and Nick Thornborrow's Image Comics graphic novel. Universal is back on board as a domestic distributor.
The film will star Vaughn and Hailee Steinfeld. It will be directed by Peter Billingsley from a script by Lieberman. Vaughn will produce with Victoria Vaughn and Micah Mason of Wild West Picture Show Productions, QED's Bill Block and Worldview's Christopher Woodrow and Molly Conners. Aton Lessine and Sasha Shapiro will executive produce with Worldview's Maria Cestone and Sarah E. Johnson. It will begin production some time in 2014.
The story follows a low-life that mob bosses, contract killers and dirty cops want dead. The man takes out a million-dollar term life insurance policy to benefit his daughter, but then learns it will take effect after 21 days. The story was presented in nonlinear format and focused on the man's efforts to survive long enough for his daughter to get the money while being a responsible father for the first time.
