[Movies] Gerard Butler In Talks For Kane & Lynch
Posted by Joseph Lee on 11.04.2013

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gerard Butler is in talks to star in Nu Image/Millennium Films' adaptation of the video game Kane & Lynch. Butler would play Kane. F. Gary Gray will direct. If Butler does agree to a deal, this will reunite the two after 2009's Law Abiding Citizen. Millennium has an offer to Vin Diesel to play Lynch but it's unknown if he'll agree.

Here's a synopsis of the game: Kane, a death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch, is sprung from prison to retrieve a stolen fortune. Kane travels to Los Angeles, Japan and Cuba, with Lynch acting as the team's watchdog in order to save his wife and daughter.

The game was developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive.

The movie has been planned since 2007. Lionsgate attempted to make a version with Simon Crane directing and Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx starring. Gray was involved with a version several years ago but came back. Skip Woods and Kyle Ward wrote the script. Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Atler will produce.
