[Movies] New Terminator Movie's Choices For Sarah Connor Narrowed Down To Two
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.04.2013

Deadline reports that Paramount and director Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) have narrowed down the choices for Sarah Connor in the fifth Terminator film, which will be a reboot for the series, down to Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson. Both actresses have tested for the role and are the frontrunners.

Sources say Clarke has an edge since Taylor directed her in HBO's Game of Thrones. Clarke placed Daenerys Targaryen on the show. Connor was originally played by Linda Hamilton in the first two films, then Lena Headey in the TV series. Larson has had roles in Short Term 12, The Spectacular Now, 21 Jump Street and is set to star in a remake of The Gambler.

Kyle Reese, played by Michael Biehn in the original, will be a character in this version, as will John Connor. A trip to the future may be a part of the storyline. The franchise is expected to continue for at least two more films, but they are casting Sarah before Reese or John.

The film will be produced by Annapurna's Megan Ellison and Skydance's David Ellison. The script comes from Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. Arnold Schwarzenegger will return to play the title character.
