[Movies] Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu in Talks to Direct The Jungle Book for Warner Bros.
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 12.04.2013

Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is in talks with director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (21 Gram, Babel) to helm their own adaptation of The Jungle Book, not to be confused with Walt Disney Studios' own film with Jon Favreau attached too direct.

The original book by Rudyard Kipling was published in 1894 and follows the story of the Indian boy Mowgli who was raised by wolves and lives among other wild animals in the jungle.

Disney previously released an animated film based on the book in 1967 and a live-action film in 1994. Their new film is written by Justin Marks. The Warner Bros. version was written by Callie Cloves.
