[Movies] Bryan Singer Reveals X2: X-Men United Writers On Board For X-Men: Apocalypse
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.19.2013

Director Bryan Singer recently revealed on Twitter that the writers for X-Men: Apocalypse will be the same as the writers for X2: X-Men United, Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris. He posted a photo of a creative session with the two, as well as X-Men: Days of Future Past writer Simon Kinberg. This would be the first time since X2 that the two have worked on an X-Men film, but it hasn't been revealed who will actually write it between the four of them.

He also wrote that it's "snowing in Egypt" in the same tweet, which seems to hint that Apocalypse's birth place of Egypt (where he was born En Sabah Nur) will be his origin in the film. Apocalypse was created by Louise and Walter Simonson and made his debut in X-Factor #6. His most popular storyline was "The Age of Apocalypse", which ran in the X-Men books in 1995. It was set in an alternate universe where Professor Charles Xavier was murdered before he could form the X-Men, which has Magneto leading the team after Apocalypse takes over the world.

X-Men: Days of Future Past arrives on May 23, 2014. X-Men: Apocalypse arrives on May 27, 2016.
