[Movies] Fast & Furious 7 to Retire Paul Walker's Character
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 01.03.2014

It's probably not a big surprise, but Paul Walker's character of Brian O'Conner will have his swan song in Fast & Furious 7. THR reports that with Walker's scenes partially shot before his tragic death in November, the plan is to rework the script in order to allow Brian to leave the franchise without being killed off.

There was initial speculation that O'Conner may be recast for the future films or that he may be killed following Walker's passing, but the studio is instead looking to honor Walker, who appeared in every film in the franchise with the exception of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. The changes will require some additional scenes to be written and shot, but the release date push to April 10th, 2015 will give them time for that.
