[TV] Ratings: The Simpsons Helped By NFL, Revenge Gets Higher Ratings
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.06.2014

It was FOX, not NBC, that won with football this week, as Sunday Night Football didn't air and FOX had the first round of the NFL Playoffs with the San Francisco 49ers defeating the Green Bay Packers. The runover from that game helped the rest of the network's programs (pending updates for live sports telecast), including The Simpsons. Meanwhile, ABC's The Bachelor preview did okay but Revenge had its best demographic rating in three months. NBC aired Dateline and a Jimmy Fallon special to decent ratings. CBS had the same numbers as usual with The Good Wife and The Mentalist.

FOX won with 17.75 million viewers and a 9.9 rating/15 share in households, followed by CBS (8.3 million, 5.3/8), NBC (5.8 million, 3.6/5) and ABC (5.795 million, 3.6/5). In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX won with a 6.6 rating, followed by NBC (1.6), ABC (1.5) and CBS (1.3). Here is the Sunday hour by hour:
