[Movies] Tekken Prequel Movie Gets A Title
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.13.2014

Cinema Today (via Kotaku) reports that the prequel to the 2009 Tekken film has been called Tekken: A Man Called X. The film will star Kane Kosugi (Godzilla: Final Wars, DOA: Dead or Alive). Kosugi is the son of Japanese martial artist Sho Kosugi and is known for his own martial arts skills. This is his first starring role in a Hollywood film.

Crystal Sky, one of the production companies of the first film, has been planning a prequel since 2012, one that is "part of a franchise of movies." At that time, the film was to follow the beginnings of the Iron Fist tournament with the title Tekken: Rise of the Tournament.

The prequel will be directed by Prachya Pinkaew (Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior, The Protector).
