[Movies] Fox Developing Magic: The Gathering Film

Get your mana in order, prepare your Shivan dragon and get Urza on the line. THR reports 20th Century Fox is developing a feature film based on the popular collectible card game Magic: The Gathering. The film will be written by Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class with Josh Feldman and Aditya Sood serving as executive producers.

The card game debuted in 1993 and more or less launched the CCG boom. The game is set in a multiverse in which wizards, known as Plansewalkers, travel the various planes of existance dueling each other. The game mechanics involve customized card decks that include creatures, spells, artifacts and other fantasy elements. The game has been adapted to a series of successful video games as well.
