[Movies] Samuel L. Jackson Says His Current Marvel Studios Contract is Almost Finished
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 01.23.2014

Speaking to Fandango, actor Samuel L. Jackson revealed that his current deal with Marvel Studios to play Nick Fury is nearly up.

Jackson had previously signed a nine-picture contract to play Nick Fury. Jackson stated: "I just know that the Marvel Universe is there, that there are things going on, and that I have three pictures left on my nine-picture deal. That's all I know."

Jackson has thus far appeared as Nick Fury in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, the Avengers, and will next appear as Fury in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He also appeared in the tie-in series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. His cameo on the TV show was reportedly not a part of his existing contract. His next appearance as Fury after The Winter Soldier will be in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Jackson added, "I've done six [Marvel movies], and I'm about to do [number] seven [Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron], so I'm running out of Marvel pictures -- unless they extend my contract." He says he's willing to do more if a new contract offer was made.
