[Movies] Guy Ritchie Planning Six-Film Franchise Based on Arthurian Legend
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 01.27.2014

Guy Ritchie's planned film of the King Arther legend has apparently expanded quite a bit. You may recall that a few years back, it was reported that the Sherlock Holmes director was seeking to put a faithful adaptation of Arthurian legend on the big screen. Now, Deadline reports that Ritchie is in talks with Warner Bros. about making a six-film franchise out of the story.

The site reports that Joby Harold is writing the first film and will produce it with Akiva Goldsman, Tory Tunnell and Lionel Wigram. It is expected that the screenplay will be based on Thomas Mallory's definitive work on the Arthur legend, Le Morte d'Arthur which is eight books.
