[Movies] January Jones Joins The Cast Of Good Kill
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.30.2014

Deadline reports that January Jones (Mad Men) has joined the cast of Andrew Niccol's Good Kill, which already stars Ethan Hawke, Zoe Kravitz (Divergent), Jake Abel (The Host) and Bruce Greenwood. Hawke worked with Niccol in Gattaca and Lord of War.

Jones will play the wife of a fighter pilot who becomes a drone operator (Hawke). Kravitz and Abel will play members of his flight crew while Greenwood plays his superior officer. The tension comes from the pilot batting the Taliban by remote control for 12 hours a day, then going home to feud with his wife and kids for the other 12. He begins to wonder if he's creating more terrorists than he's killing in a war that never seems to end.

Niccol wrote the script. The film began production in Morocco at the end of last year and will resume next month in New Mexico. Nicolas Chartier, Zev Foreman, and Mark Amin will produce for Voltage Pictures and Sobini Films. Ted Gidlow, Patrick Newall, and Cami Winikoff will executive produce. Voltage will also handle international rights and sell the last available territories in Berlin.

Foreman said: "This film will give the public a glimpse into what they are reading about and seeing on the news every day. This is not just about where war is heading but what is happening around the world right now."

Amin added: "Andrew's script is not only extremely well written and full of great characters but it pulls back the curtain on the topical subject of drones and the lives of the people who operate them."
