[Movies] One Important Philip Seymour Hoffman Scene Not Filmed For The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2
Posted by Larry Csonka on 02.04.2014

According to IGN, sources have confirmed Philip Seymour Hoffman had completed the majority of his work on both parts of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. But they note that there is one major, emotional scene left to film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. Hoffman reportedly had right around a week of shooting left before his work on both films was done. Sources feel that both films would still be successfully finished and remain creatively intact without the need to recast Hoffman's character of Plutarch Heavensbee

The Hollywood Reporter spoke with an unaffiliated special effects supervisor who says that the technology exists to digitally recreate Hoffman's likeness…

"I won't say you could generate a Philip Seymour Hoffman with all the acting ability, but you could certainly replicate him for a shot or two."

The article also notes that in the future, motion picture insurance companies may require stars to submit to facial expression scanning in case of death during filming.
