Posted by Larry Csonka on 02.04.2014

- According to Deadline, Candice Patton (The Game) has been cast as Iris West in CW's The Flash. The character is described as Barry Allen's best friend and not a love interest. In DC Comics cannon, she was the one-time wife of the second Flash (before Flashpoint), Barry Allen, the aunt of the third Flash, Wally West, and the grandmother of the fourth Flash, Bart Allen.

The cast already includes Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Jesse L. Martin as Iris's father Detective West, Rick Gosnett as Central City Police Detective Eddie Thawne and Danielle Panabaker as S.T.A.R. Labs bioengineer Caitlin Snow.
