He confided in a drug dealer...
TMZ reports that Philip Seymour Hoffman told his drug dealer that he was trying to stop his ongoing heroin problem. An informant who worked with New York City cops since Hoffman's death said he knew about conversations between Hoffman and Robert Vineberg, one of four people arrested last night in a heroin arrest.
The informant was integral to police getting a search warrant that led to the arrests. He claims that Vineberg sold heroin to Hoffman. In some of the text messages he sent, Hoffman told Vineberg he was trying to get clean and stop taking the drug. The informant was specific. He said Hoffman complained the worst part of getting clean was "uncontrollable bowel movements."
The informant often said he would see Hoffman in Vineberg's apartment and he seemed like "a man on a mission". It was just business most of the time but Hoffman always looked unhappy.
