[TV] NBC Cancels The Michael J. Fox Show
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 02.05.2014

Variety reports that NBC has cancelled The Michael J. Fox Show and pulled it from their Thursday lineup. The show was cut after 15 episodes.

Hollywood Game Night will take the show's place on Thursday, starting February 27. The Winter Olympics will air on NBC on the first three Thursdays of the month.

NBC shot 22 episodes of the show last year, but it was never able to do much ratings-wise. In it's last airing on Thursday, Jan. 23, the show pulled a 0.7 rating/2 share in adults 18-49 and 2.2 million overall viewers.

The cancellation comes two weeks after NBC cancelled another struggling Thursday night comedy, Sean Saves the World. There was talk that NBC might hang on to the show longer because they gave it a straight-to-series order of 22 episodes that had all been shot. It's not clear when NBC might air the remaining episodes.

The show was Fox's return to NBC after finding success on Thursday night with the network in the 1980's with Family Ties.
