[Gossip] Philip Seymour Hoffman Began Again After The Master Wrap Party
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.06.2014

Philip Seymour Hoffman's descent into heroin addiction began at the wrap party for The Master. TMZ reports that Hoffman, who had been clean for twenty-three years before shooting the film, gave into temptation and had a drink at the wrap party, which of course made him fall off the wagon.

According to sources, Hoffman didn't begin using heroin until 2013 although he had been curious about the drug previously. He began snorting it and when he checked into rehab in May it was because he was scared that he would escalate into intravenous use. It did eventually and he reportedly had a needle in his arm when he was found dead.

It has long been noted by addiction experts that a single drink can push recovering addicts back into the cycle of drug abuse.
