[TV] The CW Renews Arrow, Supernatural
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.13.2014

The CW has officially renewed Arrow and Supernatural. The network made the announcement today, also noting that they are renewing The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and freshman drama Reign. Arrow will be receiving a third season while Supernatural is in its tenth. Both have spin-offs, The Flash and Supernatural: Tribes, in the pilot mix for the upcoming season.

CW president Mark Pedowitz said in the announcement, "This season we've had great success with our new hit series The Originals paired with Supernatural, giving us our best Tuesday nights in years. The Vampire Diaries is No. 2 in its time period in the young adult demos, and with Arrow continuing to gain among young men, and Reign growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I'm very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they'll have more great drama to look forward to next season."

This leaves the fate of The Tomorrow People likely in the dependant on whether the net's midseason series The 100 and Star-Crossed do well. It does not bode well for Beauty and the Beast or The Carrie Diaries, both of which have struggled in the ratings and will likely not be back next year.
