[Movies] The Next Smurfs Movie Will Be Entirely Animated

According to Variety, Sony plans to fast track The Smurfs 3, but there will be a change to the franchise. The report says that the film will be entirely animated, departing from the live-action/animated hybrid formula used in the first two films. The third film is scheduled for an August 14th, 2015 release.

The first two films made just over $911 million worldwide, from budgets costs of $215 million.

  • The Smurfs - Budget ($110 million) Worldwide Take ($563.7 million)
