[TV] Papa Midnite To Be The First Season Villain On Constantine
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.26.2014

Bleeding Cool reports that Papa Midnite is set to be the villain for season one of Constantine if it gets picked up for a full run. The only way it wouldn't at this point is if the pilot doesn't do well.

The pilot episode is set in and around New York. Some of the scenes take place in the Ravenscar Psychiatric Hospital. It was located in the UK for the Hellblazer comics but was moved to the US for the TV show. The new series will stay in New York, barring special episodes or trips to other locations.

Papa Midnite will be introduced in the pilot, with a subplot giving him something of an origin. Midnite and Constantine will face off "again and again, as the stakes get higher and higher".

As of now, series plans won't happen if the pilot isn't well received. It's possible the pilot could also get rewritten if it gets a lukewarm reaction, with the "big picture" getting rewritten. Neil Marshall will direct the pilot episode with a script by Daniel Cerone and a story by Cerone and David Goyer.
