[Movies] Thomas Kretschmann Talks Avengers: Age of Ultron's Baron von Strucker

Thomas Kretschmann has revealed that he has a multi-picture deal as Hydra's Baron von Strucker for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kretschmann, who will debut the character in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, spoke with B.Z. Berline and confirmed the long-term plans for the character.

Kretschmann noted, "I have a multi-picture deal which means I will not only appear in the 2nd part, but they're planning with me for a longer period of time. But I don't know details yet, they're keeping their cards close to their chest top secret!"

When asked if he was nervous, he noted, "Oh yes, I was nervous. I was over-prepared; then on the set I went up to Joss Whedon, who is a genius, and said 'this is my first day, this is huge, please have patience with me, I'm a bit nervous.'"

Of note: principle filming has not yet started, and will actually begin later this month. That would assume that, if Kretschmann spoke with Whedon "on-set," he is likely talking about a pre-production meeting/script read-through situation, or perhaps a post-credits scene for one of the films leading up to Age of Ultron.

The film also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen,and James Spader and releases on May 1st, 2015.
