[Movies] Korean Actress Kim Soo Hyun Cast In Avengers: Age of Ultron
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.07.2014

Drama Fever reports that Korean actress Kim Soo Hyun (Claudia Kim, not the actor of the same name) will have a role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, the character she is set to play is being kept a mystery.

An official on the film told OSEN: "It would be a spoiler, so we can't tell you which character Kim Soo Hyun will play. Marvel always prohibits telling too much about the story. Her character is already decided and the scene is already written so we cast Kim Soo Hyun, but we can't let you know about her character. We only can say that her character is a substantial supporting role."

She has been in several shows, including Level 7 Civil Servant, Brain, Runaway: Plan B and Romance Town. This will be her first film. She will shoot her role in Korea in April and then continue elsewhere. Her agency, Apple of the Eye, said she will be in several scenes and will join the other members of the Avengers once her schedule is lined up with everyone else's. It's not confirmed her character is a doctor or research worker.

She wrote on Twitter: "After a long wait, I'm so happy to be back with great news. I have a lot to do ahead of me, but for now, the words ‘Welcome to the Marvel Universe' are amazing and kind of overwhelming. I was a fan of Marvel Comics, and if you really like something it looks like fate can make it happen."

Now that she is an official member of the cast, she will be at the global premiere of Captain America: the Winter Soldier in Los Angeles on March 13. Production begins in the spring for a release date of May 1, 2015. The film sees the return of Joss Whedon as a director along with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlet Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and James Spader.
