[Movies] Shailene Woodley Calls Twilight Relationship "Toxic"
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.12.2014

In an interview with Teen Vogue (via E! News), Shailene Woodley called the relationship between Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) in Twilight "toxic". Here are highlights:

On Twilight: "Twilight, I'm sorry, is about a very unhealthy, toxic relationship. She falls in love with this guy and the second he leaves her, her life is over and she's going to kill herself! What message are we sending to young people? That is not going to help this world evolve."

On all of her films after 2011's The Descendants being about romance: "That's crazy! I never thought about that. I haven't had time to think about a relationship! I literally have not had a boyfriend in almost five years. I've never even hooked up with anybody I've worked on a movie with."

On doing an action film like Divergent: "Doing an action movie is completely different from one based in reality. It's much harder to act with a green screen than with another human being. There are so many special effects in this film, so it was really amazing to see how they turned out."
