[VIDEO] Teaser Trailer Released For Phantasm V: Ravager
Posted by Joseph Lee on 03.27.2014

Two days after the announcement of the film and the release of the teaser poster, a teaser trailer has arrived for Phantasm V: Ravager, which was completed prior to the announcement and shot off and on since 2008.

Meanwhile, Arrow in the Head reports that series creator Don Coscarelli has provided a statement on the film.

He said: "The Phantasm films have been a guerrilla operation for decades now, totally outside of the studio system. We do them for the fans, and I think Ravager will definitely please them. In the past few years several studios have made offers to remake Phantasm with large budgets, but the fans were very vocal that they wanted the original cast to return and finish this iteration of the story with class. And for the first time there's an extended sequence on the Tall Man's home world. I know Phantasm fans will be as excited as I am to see it."

The long-anticipated sequel stars Angus Scrimm, Reggie Bannister, Bill Thornbury, Kat Lester, and Michael Baldwin. It was directed by Coscarelli collaborator David Hartman, who also co-wrote the film with Coscarelli. It will be produced by Coscarelli and executive produced by Brad Baruh through Silver Spheres. No plot details have been revealed yet.

Hartman has been nominated for several Emmys for his work as an animation director on shows like Transformers: Prime and Roughnecks: Starship Troopers. He also provided music videos for Rob Zombie's "American Witch" and "Lords of Salem", as well as illustrations for Steve Niles' Strange Cases for Image Comics.
