[Gossip] Steven Seagal Says He Is Considering Russian Citizenship
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 03.31.2014

Steven Seagal has opened up once again about his political views. The openly conservative action star defended Vladimir Putin's actions in seizing the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, calling Putin "one of the great living world leaders."

Seagal was interviewed from the set of a movie filming in Romania by the Moscow Times and told the site that he "would like to consider [Putin] as a brother." He said that Putin's actions regarding Crimea reflected his "desire to protect the Russian-speaking people of Crimea, his assets, and the Russian Black Sea military base in Sevastopol [it] is very reasonable."

He continued on, saying that Barack Obama's policy on Ukraine was "idiotic" and suggesting that he may apply for Russian citizenship down the line.
