[Movies] Captain America: The Winter Soldier Earns $10.2 Million In Thursday Previews

Superhero Hype that Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures' Captain America: The Winter Soldier debuted in North American last night with earliy previews and earned $10.2 million. The film stars Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and Robert Redford.
The last Marvel Studios movie, Thor: the Dark World, brought in $7.1 million from Thursday previews and midnight screenings last November. It debuted that weekend with $85.7 million and eventually earned $633.3 million worldwide. Iron Man 3 had $15.6 million in Thursday previews, while Warner Bros' Man of Steel brought in $9 million. Both opened with over $100 million and Iron Man 3 is the second-highest domestic opening after The Avengers.
At this time, it looks like the film will pass the $86.2 million April record set by Fast Five in 2011. It will open above $80 million and could get $100 million or more. It has arleady earned over $100 million internationally before it even opened in North America.
