It won't be recorded...
Variety reports that Film Independent will host a live reading of Quentin Tarantino's Western script The Hateful Eight on April 24 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Bing Theater. Tarantino shut down production of the film earlier this year after the script leaked without his permission. The reading will not be recorded or live streamed.
Film Independent president Josh Welsh said: "Quentin Tarantino is a key figure in the independent creative community. We are thrilled that Quentin will be holding the World Premiere Staged Reading of his script of ‘The Hateful Eight' with Film Independent at LACMA."
Tickets for the event are $200. Tickets are $200. Members of Film Independent, LACMA Film Club, and the New York Times Film Club can buy tickets starting April 9 at 5 PM.
The script's story (which is 146 pages long) begins after a blizzard causes a stagecoach to get trapped, stranding a "pitiless and mistrustful group" including "a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier, and a female prisoner" in a saloon in the middle of nowhere. US District Judge John Walter has set a hearing for April 14 with a January 27, 2015 trial date.
