[Movies] Jeremy Irvine Set to Star in Roland Emmerich’s Stonewall
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 04.09.2014

Deadline reports that Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death) is set to star in the new Roland Emmerich film Stonewall.

The new film is a more dramatic turn for Emmerich, known more for his big budget disaster films and blockbusters. The story follows the 1969 police raid on the Stonewall Hotel in New York that targeted the gay and transgender crowd. Irvine is set to play a young man trying to discover himself against the backdrop of the raid and the ensuing civil rights movement.

Stonewall will begin shooting before Emmerich begins production on the planned sequel for Independence Day.
