[Movies] Helen Mirren Eying Role in Trumbo Opposite Bryan Cranston
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.14.2014

Helen Mirren is eying a role in Trumbo, the biopic of blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. Variety reports that the actress is looking at playing the role of Cleo, the wife of the titular character (who will be played by Bryan Cranston).

Trumbo was a writer in the golden age of Hollywood and the highest-paid screenwriter of his day, with more than a dozen credits to his name before he was called before Joseph McCarthy's House Un-American Activities Committee. Refusing to testify, Trumbo was blacklisted, but continued to write under fake names.

The film will be directed by Jay Roach (The Campaign, Game Change).
