Director Found For Next Friday the 13th Movie
Posted by Joseph Lee on 04.15.2014

The Wrap reports that David Bruckner (<"Amateur Night" segment of V/H/S, The Signal) is in talks to direct the next Friday the 13th movie for Paramount and Platinum Dunes. It's being called a reboot, which means it will likely ignore the previous attempt at a reboot by Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre). This will be the thirteenth film in the series. Brad Fuller, Andrew Form and Michael Bay will produce. The new film arrives on March 13, 2015.

It's unknown where the plot will take Jason this time, but there have been rumors that the film will take on a found footage approach. Bruckner has experience with that thanks to his work on V/H/S.

Brucker is currently working on the home invasion film Intrusion for producers Doug Davison and David Linde.

Bruckner has credentials in the horror genre, as The Signal was an interesting movie and he had arguably the best segment of V/H/S. Time will tell if he can bring the goods with Mr. Voorhees.
