He’s been charged with criminal domestic violence…
TMZ reports that Scandal actor Columbus Short has been kicked out of his home by his wife, Tuere Short, who has filed for divorce. His wife is claiming he put a knife to her throat last week and threatened to kill her and himself.
Per a restraining order, Short got into a fight with his wife on April 7 at their Chatsworth home, where she says he came into her room intoxicated with a wine bottle in hand, acted like he was going to hit her with the bottle, and then dumped the wine on her. Tuere Short also claims that Columbus then ran into the kitchen for a knife, held her to the couch and started to choke her. He then allegedly demanded that they play a game he says was "Truth or Truth." The report claims he said if she lied he would stab her in the leg.
He then started naming men he believed she was having affairs with. She denied them all but he allegedly put the knife to her throat and threatened murder/suicide. When Tuere Short tried to escape, she says he slashed her tire.
The restraining order requires Columbus to move out of the house. Police were there today to ensure the peace as he moved out. In addition, Tuere Short filed for divorce on Tuesday (April 15) and cited irreconcilable differences. She's asking for sole custody of their two-year-old daughter.
Columbus Short was also reportedly charged with criminal domestic violence and child abuse for allegedly abusing Tuere while their child and his son were in the house. He pled not guilty. He was previously arrested for another alleged domestic violence incident a few weeks earlier.
