An Oscar-nominated director is working on a film about it...
As we've been reporting, Bryan Singer is the target of a lawsuit alleging that he sexually abused a fifteen year-old boy in 1999. Now, The Daily Mail reports that a documentary is in the works about Hollywood sexual abuse that includes allegations about Singer.
The site notes that the plaintiff Michael Egan has been cooperating with director Amy Berg, who produced the Catholic Church sex abuse documentary Deliver Us From Evil, on the documentary. Variety has confirmed the news that the documentary includes allegations against Singer.
Berg, who also did the 2012 documentary West of Memphis, was unavailable for comment. Her work on Deliver Us From Evil earned her an Oscar nomination.
Variety also repeats Egan's claim that the FBI was informed and did nothing about it. FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller told the site that she was limited in commenting on any litigation, saying that the FBI "does not comment on information provided to agents about alleged crimes unless the claims become a matter of public record. However, the suggestion that the FBI ignored evidence involving the sexual victimization of a child is ludicrous. The FBI vigorously pursues all allegations involving the sexual abuse of minors and pursues prosecution when evidence of such crimes is brought to its attention."
