Two Sequences Shown From Scarlett Johansson's Lucy at WonderCon (SPOILERS)
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.20.2014

IGN has a report from Universal Pictures' screening of two scenes from their upcoming sci-fi action thriller Lucy. The Luc Besson-directed film stars Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman, and opens on August 8th. Check out a summary of the scenes shown below:

The first sequence sees a captive Lucy, whose mind has now been affected by the mystery drug leaking inside her stomach, make come hither gestures to the henchman guarding her. She opens her thighs, gives him a sexy look, and he approaches thinking he's in for a good time. Bad move, pal, because Lucy proceeds to kill him, take his gun and escape from her cell.

She then kills a group of goons playing cards, followed by a taxi driver who doesn't speak English. She then kidnaps a frightened cabbie who takes her to a hospital. She saunters right into an operating room, gun in hand, and orders the surgeons to remove the package of drugs hidden in her stomach.

When the doctor tells her he's operating on a patient, she shoots and kills the patient, saying she could tell from his x-rays that he was too far gone to be saved.

The second sequence was a stunning car chase featuring Lucy and her companion (played by Egyptian actor Amr Waked) driving the wrong way through traffic, creating massive pileups along the way. Unlike similar "wrong way" chases where people miraculously evade collision, this one features plenty of cringe-worthy crashes. We also see a scene showing how merciless the bad guys are as they "collect" the packages of drugs concealed within other patients.
