HBO Hands Out Renewals For Veep, Silicon Valley Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.21.2014
The two shows will be back next year...
In not particularly surprising news, HBO has given renewals to Veep and Silicon Valley. HBO Programming president Michael Lombardo announced the news today, confirming that Veep will see a fourth season and Silicon Valley a second. They follow Game of Thrones' two-season renewal that was made early last week.
Veep has been a solid (if not fantastic) performer for the network, pulling in steady ratings numbers in about the 1 million viewer range. It's also become an awards favorite, with several Emmy nominations and two wins for Julia Louis-Dreyfus as lead character Vice President Selina Meyer. The show began its ten-episode third season on April 6th.
Meanwhile, Silicon Valley has shown strong ratings strength in its first few episodes. The first two episodes pulled in 1.98 million and 1.69 million viewers, respectively. The Mike Judge-created series is set in the titular area of California where technology is the primary industry and stars Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew and the late Christopher Evan Welch.
