Quentin Tarantino Still Working on The Hateful Eight
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.21.2014

As you may recall, Quentin Tarantino decided that he was going to throw in the towel on his next planned film The Hateful Eight after the script leaked online back in January. However, that may not be the case anymore. According to THR, Tarantino told the audience during his live script reading for the western that he is still at work on the project.

Tarantino told the crowd, "I am working right now on a second draft [of the film's script]. This is the first draft."

Among those participating in the live reading were Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Bruce Dern, all of whom have worked with Tarantino on past projects. Tarantino narrated the technical details and the site notes that there was a lot of banter back and forth; you can read a full report at the link.

The film is a Western that is set between eight and 12 years after the Civil War and is described as a "combination of Western and Agatha Christie-style whodunit." Tarantino still may not make it his next film, as he previously said he would publish the script and then be done with it so this could be revisions for that publication. Time will tell.
