Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong’o in Line to Voice Animal Characters in Disney’s The Jungle Book
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 04.23.2014

THR reports that Jon Favreau is looking to cast Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong'o as the voices for animal characters in his upcoming live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book for Walt Disney Studios. Johannson would voice Kaa, the python, and Nyong'o would voice Mowgli's adopted wolf mother, Rakcha.

Idris Elba is set to voice Shere Khan. The film is based on Rudyard Kipling's book originally published in 1984. Warner Bros. is also developing their own live-action version of the book, written by Steve Kloves (Harry Potter), with Andy Serkis directing.

Disney's The Jungle Book is due out on October 9, 2015.
