David Schulner Developing Ancient Egypt Series with Ridley Scott
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 04.23.2014

Variety reports that David Schulner has signed a two-year deal with Universal TV, where he's currently developing a drama series for HBO. Ridley Scott is on board to direct.

The show, Pharaoh, revolves around ancient Egypt and the influence of alien beings as an alternative for the rise of empires in the region. The project was co-created by Schulner, Giannina Facio, and Colet Abedi. Scott will executive produce the show with Schulner, Facio and Abedi. He will also direct Pharaoh if it gets picked up to series for HBO. Considering the subject matter of Scott's Prometheus, the series appears to be right in line with his sensibilities.

Schulner is also developing TV projects at SyFy and the USA Network.
